Claudio has over 15 years of experience working for and with national and local governments, international organizations, and local stakeholders in designing, planning and executing public policies for poverty eradication. His operational experience includes positions as Chief of Public Policy in UNICEF’s Bolivia country office, Chief of the Social Division at the Ministry of Planning of Chile, collaborating with the development of “Chile Solidario” social protection system; advisor to UNICEF Cambodia on child-sensitive social protection policies; social development specialist at IDB, supporting CCT programs in Colombia and Panama; and advisor at the Ministry of Finance of Chile on fiscal policies. Throughout his professional career, Claudio has specialized in dealing with development issues from a theoretical, applied research and policy perspective. Claudio holds a BSc in Economics at Universidad de Chile, and MPhil and PhD in Economics from the University of Cambridge (UK).
Claudio’s tasks in the Science of Delivery team include the development and management of the GDI Case Study Library, which seeks to build a cumulative body of delivery knowledge to better inform development policies and programs, and operationalizing the Science of Delivery at the project level through the development and application of adaptive implementation approaches to support ongoing operations.
