Walking the Talk: Thinking and Working Politically in Practice

December 11, 2019 to December 12, 2019
Washington D.C.

Please join Chemonics and the Global Delivery Initiative for an interactive, two-day learning event designed to identify opportunities and address challenges that development practitioners face while trying to ensure politically informed project and program delivery.

Walking the Talk: Thinking and Working Politically in Practice
December 11-12, 2019
World Bank (J Building)
701 18th St NW
Washington, DC 20006

The imperatives of Doing Development Differently call for development practitioners to address increasingly complex challenges in a world where context, shifting political dynamics, and coalition building play pivotal roles. Even with general policy guidelines in place, commitment from donors, and experimentation underway, the development community still struggles to understand this complexity and respond to it efficiently and realistically.

Through panel and facilitated discussions, delivery labs, and case studies, this event will boost practical understanding of how to apply 'thinking and working politically' principles on the ground. Activities will highlight what works for embedding these principles within projects' decision-making processes, ongoing implementation, monitoring and evaluation frameworks, and daily operations.
