Bringing Stakeholders together to Tackle Domestic Violence through Technology

Hackathons can be a useful tool when they bring stakeholders together to tackle particular (development) problems and (delivery) challenges. One example of this occurred when the World Bank Group organized a hackathon to address domestic violence in Central America. Supported by local organizations in each of the six countries and Washington, DC, over 370 "hackers" developed multiple solutions ranging from a web app that combats cyber stalking to an anonymous online space for victims to share their experiences. Watch the video below to learn more about the key outcomes of the hackathon.
