Daniel Ortega Nieto is an Operations Officer at the World Bank Group working with the Science of Delivery Team. In this capacity he provides technical support to operations and leads the development of DeCODE, an evidence-based system that leverages data to help anticipate and solve delivery challenges. Prior to joining the World Bank he was an advisor to the Mexican Vice‐Minister for Foreign Affairs and consulted for the Inter‐American Development Bank, as well as the governments of Brazil, Mexico, and the United States. He has conducted research at Harvard, Sciences Po, and The Hague Academy of International Law. He also coordinated an impact evaluation of Saúde Criança, a Brazilian NGO that helps slum dwellers face severe health shocks. Mr. Ortega Nieto received his B.A. from El Colegio de México, a M.Sc. in development management from the London School of Economics (Chevening Scholar), and MPP-Ph.D. from Georgetown University (Fulbright Scholar).

In addition to leading the development of DeCODE, Daniel also leads the Action Committee on DeCODE.
